Letter From the Director

Welcome back to a new Pathfinder year. It is not too late to join the Vienna Star Pathfinders or Adventures. Come out on the next meeting and be part of the learning and fun.

We already had an exciting first meeting on September 11, 2005. Due to the anniversary of the attack of 11 September 2001, the Vienna Star Pathfinder color guard began the year with a small tribute and we ended the ceremony with a moment of silence to remember all the people that perished during the awful attack of that day, 4 years ago.

I would like to welcome the new Pathfinders and Adventurers joining the club this year and those coming back that did not participate last year. We started the first meeting with going over the basics and then we had a wonderful team building activity with water balloons. We ended the meeting by conducting the tree honor and eating delicious ice cream. If you missed the meeting, you can get with your AY counselor to see if you can make up the work.

Just a reminder: it is very important that we get all the registration forms filled out and turned in. Also, permission slips were handed out for the Potomac Conference Camporee scheduled for 7-10 October 2005. To ensure that proper transportation arrangements are planned, it is crucial that the permission slips for the Camporee are returned on the next meeting.

VOLUNTEERS. If you which to volunteer to help out or be an Honor Teacher, please get with Abdiel Garcia or myself.

I am very happy to be your Vienna Star Pathfinders’ Director and am looking forward to an exciting year full of events and activities.

Blessings,

Alan Parces
