1. CAMPOREE UPDATES/QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
100,000 BIBLES: FOF Camporee wants to collect a record number of Bibles. We
collected 33,000 Bibles at the Discover the Power Camporee in 1999. We want to
raise that number to 100,000 in 2004. Several clubs are asking area Adventist
and
non-Adventist Churches to donate new and used Bibles. Also, don't forget $1.00
(per Bible) for shipping if at all possible. More info: (800) YOUTH.2.U.
ARE BICYCLES ALLOWED AT FOF? Unfortunately not, because of safety
reasons, lack of secure parking, crowded walking areas, and road congestion.
SUPPLIES ARRIVING BY 18-WHEELER? A portable semi ramp will be available
upon arrival. Ramp is reserved on a first come first serve basis by contacting
Terry Dodge, Facility Director at (517) 316-1573 or 74532.1762@compuserve.com.
CAMPING ON SUNDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 15, 2004? Camping is available on
August 15 but it is necessary to make reservations with Terry Dodge, Facility
Director (517) 316-1573 or 74532.1762@compuserve.com.
ICE: Plan on generators or ice to keep food cool. The FOF Big Red Barn will have
block and crushed ice. But be sure to bring a "little red wagon" to
hall the bags
of ice back to your campground.
NEED A FORKLIFT? A terrain forklift will be available FREE after 6:00 p.m.
every night. The forklift will not be available during the day due to setting up
the Camporee. For reservations, contact Terry Dodge, Facility Director (517)
316-
1573 or 74532.1762@compuserve.com.
GOLF CARTS: Only carts rented through FOF Camporee will be permitted on
the FOF Campground. Reasons include insurance, cart numbers, equipment
maintenance, driver safety, etc. Conferences/Unions/Divisions may reserve
their carts by contacting Vern Byrd, FOF Assistant Director at (800) YOUTH.2.U
or 104474.1741@compuserve.com.
GOLF CART & RADIO: 3 golf cart-limit per Conference/Union/Division for
$180 each. Radios are available for $75. Rentals are good for 6 days: Monday
noon – Sunday noon.
HOW WILL WE COOK OUR FOOD? We suggest you use heat but open
campfires are not allowed because of smoke and safety reasons. You must use
butane or some form of gas cooking stove.
