 3.                  CONFERENCE “GOOD NEWS”

ARIZONA CONFERENCE:  At the 1999 Discover the Power Camporee, Arizona brought 79 Pathfinders.  At the 2004 Faith on Fire Camporee they brought 350 and, “we are shooting for 1000 in 2009.”  Tony Anobile, Conference Youth Director/Secretary

POTOMAC:  Beth Beckermeyer, Master Guide from the Potomac Conference was unable to attend the FOF Camporee.  Still wanting to be a part of the experience, Beckermeyer purchased 100 Potomac Conference trading pins and asked a friend, Mark VanArsdale, to trade the pins for her.  VanArsdale enlisted the help of other Potomac Conference Pathfinders,  and throughout the week they traded and collected pins for Beckermeyer, making sure that no two pins were alike.  The Waynesboro Mountaineer Pathfinders and VanArsdale presented Beckermeyer with her collection of pins - approximately 120 unique treasures.  This is a great story of how “Faith on Fire” actually burned in the hearts of Potomac Pathfinders during the Camporee!  Source: Columbia Union Visitor 12/04

MICHIGAN CONFERENCE:  Fifty-four TLT’s (Teen Leadership Trainees) from the Michigan Conference were invested at the Faith on Fire Camporee.  Source: Lake Union Herald 11/04

 4.                  NIGHTTIME PROGRAMMING

GOOD NEWS: “I work in a community social service agency that doesn’t have positive feelings about religion and God.  It is definitely a mission field.  At times I have been frustrated  and discouraged.  I needed the message from Joseph’s story.  I play the CD on my way to work nearly everyday.  I know the program was created with the kids in mind, and I hope they went home with the powerful and encouraging message too.  God indeed used the story to strengthen my faith.

Thank you for the time, effort and energy that you put into the Camporee.”   Wendy
